Pakistan's Iftikhar Ahmed has got massive popularity in Bangladesh following his performances in their only franchise league.
Iftikhar, who is representing Fortune Barishal in this year's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), scored 100 runs in four matches so far. He played an important knock for his team against Chattogram Challengers, scoring 57 not out in a winning cause.
Taking to Twitter, Iftikhar shared a picture with a Bangladeshi fan. "Bangladesh is a lovely country with amazing people and hospitality. More importantly, the fans love their cricket. Alhamdulillah another win for Fortune Barishal," he wrote.
On Saturday, while representing Barishal against Comilla Victorians, Iftikhar managed to score just five runs.
After being sent into bat first, Barishal scored 177-6 after their skipper Shakib Al Hasan scored an unbeaten 45-ball 81.
While defending 178 runs, Barishal's bowlers restricted Victorians to 165-7. Khushdil Shah scored an unbeaten 43 runs in 27 balls, with the help of a four and four sixes, but it was not enough for his team to get over the line.
Iftikhar also took a wicket while giving away 33 runs in his four overs.
